PAC 14 Reorganization Support Petition

WE, THE UNDERSIGNED RESIDENTS OF WICOMICO COUNTY, pledge our continued support of quality public access programming offered by PAC14 under its current management. Further, we support reorganization of the station under broad-based community ownership, independent of local government control. We believe:

1. PAC14 should be owned and operated as a Maryland nonprofit corporation, designed to encourage community partnering both public and private -- and eligible and likely to generate new funding support from diverse interests throughout the community.

2. Management supervision of PAC 14 should be vested in representatives of the community it serves including representation by PAC 14 members, individuals with an educational focus, and those involved with the city and county government.

3. Financial accountability of public funding should be assured by an Access Management Agreement with local government, with both books and meetings open to the public.

4. The Bylaws of PAC14 should assure that its Board of Directors as closely as possible reflects the racial, ethnic, geographic, social and economic diversity of Wicomico County, and of the viewing public.

5. The programming policies of PAC14 should continue to insist on high standards while avoiding the possibility or likelihood of censorship of content.
